On behalf of the Portuguese Young Chemists group from the Portuguese Society of Chemistry, we kindly welcome you to join us at the 7th Portuguese Young Chemists Meeting, set in the welcoming city of Bragança, from May 19th to 21st 2021.
This biennial conference, dating back to 2008, is dedicated to gather young researchers from all subfields of Chemistry, as well as other related scientific areas of research.
Young chemists and researchers from any nationality are particularly encouraged to share their scientific highlights amongst their peers from chemical sciences, expand their international research network and attend lectures from recognized experts in various field of Chemistry.

The aim of the Webinar is to demystify the idea that publishing in high impact factor journals is an impossible task or that it is reserved for a small group of renowned experts and Professors from World Top Higher Education Institutions. In this Webinar, participants will be guided in all sections that compose a scientific paper, the aspects that need particular attention, and how to address each section of the manuscript. The ultimate goal is to stimulate and encourage MSc and Ph.D. students in their thesis final stage to get “out of the box” and plan, organize, execute and acquire the “fire in the belly” to publish their research outputs.
The Webinar is open to a general Academia audience, mainly targeting students but also open to researchers and early career Professors. The Webinar can also be attended by participants from diverse scientific domains, since it is developed in a general way, with some exercises and examples referring to particular areas (several domains within the scientific field of Chemistry), specifically developed to meet the participants’ background and main scientific subjects

The Portuguese Young Chemists Award (PYCA) attributed by the Young Chemists Group (GQJ) aims to promote excellence in Chemistry developed by young researchers, with particular focus on the scientific impact on the society. The prize is awarded every two
years to recent doctors with less than 35 years and laureates the work done during their PhD. It is opened to Portuguese or foreigner young researchers that received his/her PhD degree in any field of the chemical sciences from a Portuguese University between January 2018 and December 2019.
An Award will be attributed to a oral communication presented by a master/PhD student during the 7th PYCheM. Selection will be based on three criteria: General interest of the research, Clarity of the presentation, and Quality of the results presented.
The award will consist of one English Editing service (Basic Pack) of a manuscript having the student as the first author. The award will be announced during the Closing Ceremony.
